The Mortal Man

The Mortal Man

Traditional Lakeland Inn

A traditional Lakeland inn in the village of Troutbeck with panoramic fell views from its terrace. The Mortal Man has been serving travellers for centuries and remains a wonderful spot for a pint of local ale and hearty food with a view.
What to Expect
The menu focuses on well executed pub classics made with local ingredients, and the selection of local ales is excellent. The terrace is the star, on a clear day, the views across the Troutbeck valley to the surrounding fells are outstanding. Inside, the bar retains its traditional Lakeland character.
The Food & Drink
Expect hearty pub fare, pies, roasts, steaks and seasonal specials, all made with locally sourced produce. The ale selection champions Cumbrian breweries, and there’s a decent wine list. The Sunday roast is particularly well regarded and draws a loyal crowd.
