Brantwood is a historic house which was once the home of John Ruskin, a famous Victorian writer, artist and social reformer which is now open as a museum showcasing Ruskin’s life and work.

The apartment fuses modern with traditional, combining a tasteful, modern kitchen with traditional Victorian features. And while everything inside the Coachman’s Quarters is pleasing to the eye, glancing out the window is guaranteed to take your breath away.
Step outside and within Brantwood’s sprawling grounds you’ll find a cafe, extensive gardens, woodland trails and lake access to the shores of Coniston Water.
From the shore you can hop on a cruise around the lake or visit Coniston village. Adventure seekers can launch paddle-boards or canoes or take a dip in the calm waters for a wild-swim.

The Coachmans Quarters is a self catering studio for two on the Brantwood estate, once the home of Victorian writer and artist John Ruskin. Perched above the Terrace Kitchen, it enjoys stunning views over Coniston Water to the fells beyond.
Your Stay
Inside are a double bed, a well equipped kitchen and diner, a cosy seating area and an en suite shower room. Well behaved dogs are welcome, and guests have the famous gardens and grounds of Brantwood right outside.
