Down a quiet, single-track lane on the edge of Coniston sits Park Gate Cottage. Dating back to the 1850's the cottage was previously the gate-keeper's cottage for the old Coppermine's rail line. Today, it provides comfortable accommodation for up to 4 guests looking for the best of both worlds, a peaceful countryside location, yet with village amenities close by. Guests at Park Gate cottage can enjoy a picturesque stroll into the centre of Coniston village via the former railway line. Here you will find an array of independent shops and cafes plus some great pubs. Head down to the lake to catch a lake cruise or hire a boat and explore Coniston Water yourselves.

What to Expect
Park Gate Cottage sleeps four across two bedrooms, a double with a window seat and twin beds tucked into the eaves. The open plan sitting and dining room has a slate floor, beams and an open fire, and the fully equipped kitchen includes a dishwasher and washing machine. Bed linen, towels and coal for the fire are included.

A footpath along the old Coppermines railway line leads into Coniston village, with shops, cafes and pubs, and the Old Man of Coniston is on your doorstep for walkers. Coniston Water, Brantwood and the Ruskin Museum are close by, and Grizedale Forest offers mountain biking. There is a front garden with outdoor furniture, and dog owners can use a one acre field in the village by arrangement.
