Walk out of your front door to climb some of the Lake District’s finest mountains, including the mighty Wetherlam and the legendary Old Man of Coniston. For a more relaxed experience, soak in a magnificent panorama of peaks, waterfalls, and historic mine workings from the comfort of your cottage, with quietly grazing Herdwick sheep to keep you company.
Once home to the miners who worked the valley, Fellside carries a sense of its past. Thoughtfully refurbished in 2026, it now offers a warm, characterful base in the heart of the Lake District.
What to Expect
Fellside Cottage is a cosy retreat for two, set in the spectacular Coppermines Valley about five hundred yards down from the main mountain cottages near Coniston. It offers a traditional Lakeland feel in a truly peaceful mountain setting.
Your Stay
Surrounded by crags, rivers and waterfalls, the cottage is ideal for couples wanting to escape and explore. The valley is a walkers haven, with the Old Man of Coniston and miles of open fell right on the doorstep.
