Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway

Scenic Narrow-Gauge Railway

The Lake District’s oldest and most scenic narrow-gauge railway, running seven miles from the coastal village of Ravenglass through spectacular scenery to Dalegarth in Eskdale. It’s a magical journey for all ages.
What to Expect
The train winds through valleys and along rivers with views of the fells that you can’t reach by road. Along the way, you can stop at points of interest including the Roman Bath House and the village of Boot.
The Experience
The seven-mile journey takes about 40 minutes and passes through some of the Lake District’s most unspoilt scenery. The narrow-gauge trains are charming, and the route connects with excellent walking at both ends. It feels wonderfully timeless.
Getting There & Essential Info
The railway departs from Ravenglass and Dalegarth stations. Daily with seasonal timetable. Tickets online or at stations.
